Vietnamese Restaurants in Canada
Canada is home to more than 150,000 Vietnamese Canadians. This is a significant jump from the 2,000 that existed here before 1975. As their population grew, the Vietnamese also generated much awareness of their culture and traditions. This has been done through the growth of the restaurant industry. Today there are over 500 Vietnamese restaurants in Canada, each offering a gateway into the history, culture, and traditions of the Vietnamese.
Today, most of the Vietnamese Canadians settle in Canada's larger provinces such as Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia, and Alberta; and the larger cities within those provinces like Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and Ottawa. It is also in these areas where the highest concentrations of Vietnamese restaurants exist.
