Beginner's Menu
A few typical menu items that a beginner should try are:
- Salad Rolls
Salad rolls (goi cuon) have very light tastes and are very easy to eat. Just pick up a roll with your fingers, dip it in hoisin and peanut sauce, and enjoy! - Pho Tai Bo Vien
Pho Tai Bo Vien is a very common bowl of pho noodles that consists of the broth, pho noodle, beef slices, and beef balls. This simple, yet delicious bowl of noodles is a great way to welcome your taste buds! More advanced pho eaters can try mixing different ingredients, although most regulars often go for this sure choice. Another option is to ask for plain pho, with just the broth and the noodles. - Porkchop with Rice
Porkchop with rice (com suon) can easily be mastered with just a knife and fork! There is no need for chopsticks with this dish. - Grilled Beef Vermicelli
Grilled beef vermicelli (bun thit nuong) is another simple dish. The main ingredients here are plain white vermicelli noodles, grilled pork, and vegetables. Additional items such as cha gio can be added!
As for beverages, most of them are very self explanatory. A few common favourites that anyone should try are jackfruit fruit shake, mango fruit shake, and of course, the very famous, Vietnamese coffee!
